The last couple years have been rough, personally. And those personal life issues, inevitably affected the show as a whole. I know the show has always struggled to meet a monthly release schedule, and it has only gone down hill since 2022 and 2023. 6 episodes in 2022, 3 in 2023, then finally only 2 episodes in 2024 and 2 episodes in 2025... But 2025 is where the ship started to turn around. There may have only been 2 episodes released, but 1 was in November and 1 was in December. We kept that momentum going into 2026, with an episode released in January, and we are currently on track to release our next in February. We're now 3 for 3 months with a release, and looking at 4 for 4!
I've been posting about it in Discord at the time this announcement is going up, but all 5 of us got together on February 1st, 2026 to record our first session since December 1st, 2024 (that's right, over a year without even recording). Today is February 9th, and not only has the Patreon Preview already been posted, but I have already finished the main edit of the episode (where I am shaping the story and tightening up the flow of the episode). I'll be starting to work on the production pass this week (where I add in the sound design and fine tune things that feel like they need tweaking on a 2nd listen). I've got a planned day off this week where I plan to make a lot of headway on that. Given that there's still almost 3 weeks left in the month, I'm pretty sure we're going to pull off the 4 for 4.
I have a goal for this year, which is to release at least 4 episodes, to match what we have released in 2024 and 2025 combined. But what I really want to pull off this year, is an episode every month. Now, I know we (as an entire group behind the show) get very busy when summer hits, so my more manageable and realizable goal, is to at least do an episode on average every other month.
Which brings me to another couple things that have come from getting back in the spirit of working on the show. First and foremost, I wanted to bring attention to the fact that I am around on social media through Threads. You can follow me @damian_the_ DM, where I post not only about the show, but about random bits from my life in general. One of the show oriented things you can find is me starting to share audiogram clips to promote the show. I've got a longer, more in depth, post that I need to write about creating those clips for socials, but right now I am just trying to bring awareness to the fact that they exist. It would mean a ton to me and help the show as a whole grow, if you took a moment to repost them if you are on Threads, engage with me in the comments, or share them and tag me yourself! You can also come join us on Discord. I'm super active there. The content is largely the same. I intend to respond and interact the same. But in the Discord you get access to the rest of the cast and out community as well!
Speaking of other things I need to take some time to do some blog posts on, I'm going to rapid fire throw out some of the tools that I have taken to using over the last few months. None of these are meant to be in depth reviews, but just letting you know what tools I am using and what for
There are a ton of updates that have been behind on the website, but now that I have a laptop to do some slightly more mobile work, I am trying to put more time into getting some things updated. Last week I got the episode feed on the website updated (it's always stayed up to date on the media host site and in your podcast apps), as well as did the bittersweet work of updating our recommendations page, which is sadly down to 5 shows that were featured that are actually still active. I have some ideas for building this back up, some of which simply include doing the work to add in shows that I have picked up since the last time I added things to the page, others of which include adding in book series that we recommend.
