Just a quick update from Damian about what's been going on during the hiatus to get people up to speed, as well as some reminiscing over old blog posts as he works on getting old content moved to the new website so we can get rid of Squarespace finally!

It's been a long time since we released a new episode and while I have had plans to post about what's been going on, things have held them up. This is a shorter production update to let you all know what's going on behind the scenes without some of the deep dive that I've been working on in the background for the last few months. If you want the short short version without opening the post, here it is. Due to some real life issues out of our control, Adventures in Erylia has been put on another hiatus. We're all still friends, we all still talk, and this has nothing to do with the group as a whole, we hate that it has been so long and hope that things will settle down in the new year.

A product that I have been eyeing for quite some time has finally entered it's Kickstarter phase! Introducing Amsel Suite - Tome and Lore! These are the first two apps that will be developed for a new world building, roleplaying, and storytelling notes platform. Tome will be used for prepping notes for your story or roleplaying game sessions, while Lore will be used for keeping all of your notes on your world and the things within it, and both apps will be able to talk to each other so that things you reference in Tome can be linked for their dedicated articles in Lore and vice versa. The platform will be local and subscription free, so once you have it, it is yours to work with. I've already backed and I am looking forward to see them succeed and helping them along the way with my feedback to get the perfect world building and session prepping tool for me.

It's been a long time. Far too long. Our last recording session was on 10/15/2022... That was over six months ago! After that, life for the cast just got very chaotic and busy. But we were able to get together last weekend and sit down for a long 4 hour session filled with roleplay, exposition, and hooks for what the party might do next.

We're in the final stages of getting the last commission from our Guild Masters commission series wrapped up. With this finishing up, we are in need of a new list to chose from for future commissions! We'd love to hear what characters or items you would like to see us have commissioned and they will get turned into a new pool to chose from in future polls over on Patreon. It's 2023 and time for a facelift for Adventures in Erylia. You're now checking us out on our brand new website! The new website should be pretty familiar to our old one, but it has been rebuilt on a whole new platform. In search of more customization options, we have moved from Squarespace over to Webflow. We are really excited for some of the new features and more granular customization that we have on Webflow.

Ohhhh boyyy... I did not expect to start up something like the production updates, get a new episode posted, and then not post one for 2 months. Long story short, life was kicking my own ass. BUT! There's a new episode out now (it only took 3 weeks!!!) and you should go listen to it. But a peak behind the curtain will tell you that it will be a little while before the next one. Guess you'll have to read the full post to find out why...

With our new website up and running, Damian wants to get in the habit of doing more regular text updates on how production is going. Considering everything else that went on this weekend, I am actually super happy with how far I got, though I was slightly under the goal I set for myself part of the way through Sunday. These updates probably won't be weekly, but if I feel like a significant milestone has been reached, I'll try to get a post up about it at the end of the weekend.

It has been a busy week over at Wizards of the Coast when it comes to Dungeons & Dragons right now. After a week of silence, they came out with a cheeky statement to insult their pissed off fan base. Apparently their PR team is back from vacation this week though, as Kyle Brink has made a commitment to being more open about their process of updating their licensing, and we even got an actual draft of their proposed OGL1.2. Some of this is a step in the right direction, but in many ways, Wizards of the Coast is not doing enough to convince the community to calm down. This post includes my thoughts over pretty much the last week of Wizards' statements in regards to the OGL. I've started writing new one's a couple times now and I just can not keep up with the pace in which they are releasing new statements so I am condensing them down here.

If you're even vaguely aware of the TTRPG space, then you've heard of the disaster that is going on with Wizards of the Coast and Dungeons & Dragons over the past 2 weeks. It was leaked that Wizards was going to be releasing a new version of their OGL, the Open Gaming License. Damian has been very plugged into what has been coming out and wanted to take some time to lay out his thoughts for our community. He expresses his frustration at the situation, sympathy for those effected, and what it means for the show right now and potentially in the future. This is by no means an all inclusive account on everything but a way to vent and handle his feelings personally.
